About Ava

Ava Rose, LCSW is an experienced licensed clinical social worker and Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist specializing in relationally-focused individual, couple and family therapy.

Ava has over 25 years of clinical experience working with clients of all ages, including children, teens, young adults, couples and families.  Please see Therapy Services for more information.

As a Certified (Level III) Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Ava incorporates mindfulness and attention to somatic experiences as part of the therapy process. For more information about Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, please click here. Ava has also completed IFS-Level 1 training.

 


Ava’s past work experience includes providing Sensorimotor, Trauma & Family Therapy at PCH Treatment Center in Mar Vista; eight years as Director of DSC_0059_2Women Helping Women ~ Community Counseling & Support Services; and 7 years as a therapist at Stuart House & sexual assault crisis counselor at the SM-UCLA Rape Treatment Center.

She has been an Adjunct Lecturer in Social Welfare at UCLA and at the USC School of Social Work; is past Faculty at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center Clinical Fellowship Program; and served for 8 years as a Field Instructor and director of training for MSW Interns at Women Helping Women. Ava has also served for many years on the Steering Committee of the Westside Domestic Violence Network (WDVN), as well as the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention (CSAP) Advisory Council at Peace Over Violence.


Ava frequently provides training, consultation and supervision for both new and seasoned clinicians, as well as professionals in law enforcement, shelter staff, child protective workers, educators and others on a range of topics.  Please see Consultation Services and Trainings for more information.
